School Meals Program

Hungry minds can't learn

Nourishing Children. Fueling Their Education

Two meals each school day help students stay healthy, focused, and ready to learn. For many, school is often the only place where they eat.

Fresh meals are prepared each school day by the school’s cook and assistant for more than 100 children at the Zoe Robinson Academy.

Fifty-Three, Hunger Free

Fifty-Three, Hunger-Free is the monthly giving initiative that sustains the School Meals Program. When 53 supporters give $16 per month, every child receives two meals each school day.

A Message You Can Use

For my birthday this year, I’m raising money for Liberian School for Needy Children, which helps provide education and daily meals for children in Liberia. If you’d like to celebrate with me, you can make a gift through this fundraiser. Even a small gift helps. Learn more at liberianschool.org

Other Ways to Give

Some of the most powerful gifts never touch a credit card. If you give through appreciated stock or a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), you can support Zoe Robinson Academy in a way that may be more tax-efficient than cash.

  • Donate Appreciated stock
  • Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA (age 70½+)
  • Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) grants – recommend a grant from your DAF account
  • Ask us about other non-cash gifts (Jewelry, Art, Coins etc.)

Tax rules vary by situation. Your tax advisor can confirm what applies to you.

Giving Appreciated Stock

Donating appreciated stock that you have held long-term allows you to avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation.

You may also receive a charitable deduction for the full market value of the donated stock.

IRA Charitable Distributions (QCDs)

If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution directly from your IRA.

A QCD can satisfy required minimum distributions and typically reduces taxable income, subject to annual IRS limits.

Because these gifts require a little coordination, the fastest way is to reach out directly.
